Jonathan Jackson is an award-winning creative leader, writer, and thinker, who sits at the intersection of academia and industry. In 2014, he co-founded Blavity Inc, the largest digital media company focused on Black audiences, reaching over 100M consumers per month. He left the company in 2018 after their Series A funding round. He is a former Nieman-Berkman Klein fellow at Harvard University, where he studied Black cultural influence and intellectual property and how that is crafted both domestically and abroad. He’s held leadership posiitons at Westbrook Media, Standard Chartered Bank, and LinkedIn. Currently, he is a 2024 Global Fellow at the Ford Foundation, looking at how to use storytelling to to build creative institutions and disrupt persistent kinds of inequality.
